CLUB RULES & REGULATIONS:
SMOKING AND THE USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME!
DRESS CODE:
We reserve the right to deny use of the Club to any person whose attire we do not consider to be appropriate in connection with the public image of our Club and our rules & regulations.
No attire or personal hygiene that discredits the standard of The Edge Health & Adventure Club will be accepted.
Street clothes / shoes and jeans are not considered appropriate training gear.
Athletic shoes are required in exercise areas. No flip-flops / sandals. No black sole shoes are permitted on the squash courts.
No ragging clothing, cut-off, or cut down shorts or pants; half shirts, curlers, swimsuits or sandals are allowed in the exercise or aerobic areas.
SWEAT TOWELS:
No member will be allowed to train without a sweat towel.
Use a sweat towel at all times and wipe equipment before you proceed to your next “work station”.
Be considerate and help to maintain a high standard of hygiene.
Disinfectant & wipe towels are provided to clean equipment after use.
JUNIORS (0-12 YEARS):
Not permitted to utilize any of The Edge Health & Adventure Club’s facilities, with exception to “Hartswater Swimming Club” & “Exclusive Models & Dancing Academy” (Child care services provided)
CHILD CARE SERVICES:
Peak hour supervision will be provided. Parents must remain in the Club while their children are in childcare. We have the right to refuse any child that misbehaves and disrupts the other children.
CIRCUIT AREA:
Equipment may only be used after a member has received instructions on how to use equipment safely; and machines are to be used in order. Randomly moving from machine to machine is not permitted.
ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT:
Don’t attempt to use the Club’s electronic equipment before it has been demonstrated to you by and instructor. It can easily be damaged by incorrect operation, resulting in costly repairs.
Stick to time limits on equipment. No juniors allowed on electronic equipment.
GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES:
Inform instructors of any injuries or concerns.
Classroom etiquette: Be courteous to other members exercising around you.
Do only those exercises that the instructor and participants are performing.
Try being on time and avoid having to leave the class before it has finished unless absolutely necessary.
WEIGHT TRAINING AREA:
All weights, benches and equipment must be replaced after use.
Equipment may only be used after instruction and demonstration from an instructor.
All weights are to be placed on racks after use. Failure to do so could result in suspension of membership or termination of contract.
SQUASH COURTS:
Squash bookings are to be made at reception and are payable upfront.
Bookings can only be made 2 (two) / 1 (one) days in advance.
Maximum of 1 (one) hour bookings per playing couple.
No black sole shoes.
SWIMMING POOL:
Swimming caps must be worn in the pool. In so doing you will help us to keep the hygiene and the pH levels in our swimming pool constant.
No food or drinks allowed in swimming pool area
Shower before using the pool.
Parents must ensure that children use the toilet before swimming.
Babies must wear swimmer nappies.
SAUNA & SHOWERS:
Shower before entering and sit on towel in Sauna.
No food, glass or bottles permitted in Sauna.
Sufferers of high blood pressure or any cardiac irregularity must not use these facilities.
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the sauna.
Refrain from shaving in the showers & sauna. Even though you may consider it something of a minor transgression, any activity with the potential to cause bleeding is a threat to hygiene.
Do not use hand soaps as shower soaps. Please bring your own toiletries.
LOST PROPERTY:
Lost property box will be cleared weekly and contents given to charity.
The Edge Health & Adventure Club and staff members will not be held responsible for any loss or theft of any property, including firearms etc.
LOCKERS:
Lockers are provided at R50 key deposit charge. Rent your lock from reception to ensure safe keeping of any valuables during training.
No responsibility will be taken for any object lost or stolen.
Please clear out your locker at least once / twice a week to avoid unnecessary build-up of odours etc.
Permanent lockers are available at an additional monthly rate.
EXPULSION:
Any member may be expelled by the management for violation of any rule of the Club or for any conduct which in the opinion of the management is detrimental to the welfare, good order and respect of the Club, staff or Club members.
Damage to the Club’s property shall be paid for by any member who fully or neglectfully causes damage incurred by dependent children or guests. Management reserves the right to amend Club rules from time to time.
