The Edge Health & Adventure Club has a 25m heated (+- 26 degrees) swimming pool (1.3m deep), open to all gym members and public.  Hartswater Swimming Club are also active in our club.  The pool is unfortunately closed during winter months, June – August, but we re-heat again September – May.  During summer time the pool is open permanently except when cleaning / treating and the occasional cold front.

Due to the high traffic through our pool with the aqua aerobics, swimming club & regular swimming clients, maintenance etc. it is advised to rather phone ahead to avoid disappointment from using our pool.

Pool Rules:

  • Use of The Edge pool at own risk
  • Swimming caps must be worn in the pool at all times, by everyone!
  • Proper swim wear is required
  • No food or drink allowed in swimming pool area
  • Please use shower & toilet before swimming
  • Parents must ensure that children use the toilet before swimming 
  • Infants must wear aqua nappies
  • No under 10’s without adult supervision
  • No fooling around with pool equipment please
  • Please dry off before leaving the pool area

Spot the Dangers

•  Take care, swimming pools can be hazardous.  Water presents a risk of drowning and injuries can occur from slipping, hitting the hard surrounds or from misuse of the equipment.
•  Every pool is different, so make sure you know how deep the water is and check for other hazards in and around pool.

Always Swim Within Your Ability

•  Never swim after a heavy meal, taking medicine or after alcohol.  Avoid holding your breath and swimming long distances under water.  Be especially careful if you have a medical condition such as epilepsy, asthma, diabetes or heart problems.
•  Follow advice provided for the safety of yourself and others.  Avoid unruly behaviour which can be dangerous; for instance running on the side of the pool, diving in from the poolside or steps, ducking, acrobatics in the water or shouting and screaming (which could distract attention from an emergency).  Always follow the rules and remember that a moment of foolish behaviour can cost a life.
•  It is safer to swim with a companion.  Keep an eye open for others, particularly younger children and non-swimmers.
•  Guests swim at their own risk.  There is no lifeguard on duty.
